Dr Lynn Martin - Our Founder
Dr. Lynn Martin was born and raised in Huntertown Indiana. He graduated from Huntertown High School in 1956. Dr. Martin attended Purdue University achieved an Agriculture Teaching degree. While in class and nearing graduation, a counselor came and spoke to his class announcing that they would be starting a Vet school in the next academic year.  He and all of his graduating class would be eligible start in the fall.  He and his wife made that commitment, signed up for ROTC to help pay for the additional tuition, and he graduated from Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1964. He served his commitment as a Captain in the US Army of the Veterinary Corps for 2 years at White Sands Missile Range New Mexico.       After the Army, the family moved  to South Bend, Indiana and worked in his first job as a Veterinarian.  Their next stop was in Elkhart, Indiana where he continued to expand his small animal practice expertise in a fast paced Animal Hospital.  Those 2 practices honed his skills and allowed him to save up and pay for his own practice. Their next move was back to Fort Wayne.  They built and opened his practice in the spring of 1969.  Dr. Martin and his wife DeMarise have 4 children and 15 grandchildren, many of whom have been or are current employees at Fort Wayne Pet Hospital.
Dr. Martin officially retired in January 2018. He has been involved in the community as an adult leader for the St. Vincent Boy Scouts, the Allen County 4H Fair(& his club the Perry Boosters), yearly he shared his Veterinary Skills & humor with local High School & Elementary School rooms, his practice joined with local High Schools and (still)  provided exterships to students interested in the Veterinary field, donated his wood working mastery to schools, scout programs, & his grandchildren.
